Horní Smržov – Museum of folk buildings

The first object of the Museum of folk buildings in the Letovice region was opened to public in 2006 in the south part of the village. Inside the building there is an exposition of a typical village interior of the first half of the 20th century. Tourists can see a timbered barn, stone cellar and a wooden bee-house from 1924. Accommodation is available to the public at the Museum premises.

Knínice u Boskovic No. 34

A moderate agricultural estate protected by the state that is located in the region of Malá Haná. The building consists of a timbered service core (pantry, chamber and sitting room), smeared by clay into so-called “skin” which dates back to 1714. The interior includes a well- preserved black kitchen with a stove and a tiled vault in the sitting room.

Kořenec No. 16 – Museum

A quadrangular bricked agricultural estate adapted into a local museum with an exposition devoted to the life and work of people in Kořenec and Drahany highlands. In 2004 a memorial plate of Jiří Pelikán was placed on the house.

Kořenec No. 147 – Wind mil

The wind mill is protected by the state and dates back to 1866. The building is a very well-preserved example of a Dutch type mill where it was only the roof with blades that turned against the wind. The mill has not been in operation since 1949. The complete and well preserved technological equipment is maintained and taken care of by the present owners. The will is not open to public.

Sebranice No. 34

This building served as and agricultural estate of Malá Haná type with a timbered sitting room. In front of the face of the building one can find the only preserved timbered “žundr” (a timbered entrance room supported by columns) in the area which dates back to 1738. This “žundr” served as a chamber (a storage room for corn). All the timbered constructions are smeared by clay into so-called “skin”. This house is protected by the state and is not open to public.

Sychotín No. 34 – Water mill

This is a priceless storied building of a water mill with a mixed construction of walls - the living areas upstairs are timbered, smeared with clay into so-called “skin” and the rest of the building is bricked. There is a well preserved and complete furnishing and equipment of a village-type cylindrical mill that serves as an example of a complicated development of water mills in the countryside. The mill is not open to public.

Újezd u Kunštátu No. 22

This house is protected by the state and it is a smallholder ´s building with a gable from the regions of Horácko and Podhorácko from the 18th century. The timbered living area has a typical three-part division of rooms – chamber, a hall with a kitchen and a sitting room. The stables and the barn are already bricked and were reconstructed in the 19th and 20th century.
